Our new, permanent tobacco exhibition is now open. Apart from static displays there is a screen showing the film "The End of the Golden Weed", the story of tobacco growing in the Motueka Area, with personal memories of a unique industry from the 1920 to 1990s. There is also a digital display of photographs spanning a number of years.
The exhibition has been built in the shape of an old kiln, including a chimney. The interior floor has pipes showing how an updraft kiln worked.
